Who we are
Hi, I’m Elton — the founder and head coach of Vybz Football, a player-first private training program built on the belief that real development happens when coaching is personal, purposeful, and consistent.
I started Vybz with one goal in mind: to create an environment where players feel seen, supported, and challenged to grow — not just as athletes, but as individuals. I’ve worked with players of all ages and abilities, and what’s remained constant is my commitment to high standards, attention to detail, and building real connections.
Whether I’m running a one-on-one session or working with a group, I take the time to understand each player’s strengths, areas for growth, and how they learn best. From there, I build a plan that pushes them with purpose — sharpening technique, building confidence, and inspiring a deeper love for the game.
I’m not here for shortcuts or quick wins. I believe in long-term development and holding players accountable in a way that motivates and empowers them. Vybz Football isn’t just about drills and training — it’s about creating a space where players are invested, engaged, and supported every step of the way.
If your child is hungry to improve and ready to work, I’d be proud to be part of their journey.
Coach Elton Q&A
-
I coach first and foremost because I absolutely love it. I get to work with people, take full responsibility for helping them chase after their goals, and do whatever it takes to help my athletes achieve their personal ambitions. Not everyone will become a professional, but why can’t it be you? Why set limits? My aim is to shift mindsets and make the impossible feel possible. I want players to understand it’s okay to dream big but also that dreams don’t come true without sacrifice.
-
I believe in training with game-like intensity and purpose. Every drill has a clear “why,” and I ensure players understand it. For me, game-like means playing under pressure with the ball, while game realism involves mastering body shape, technique, and all the key details needed to reach an elite level. My goal is to develop brave players who are confident on the ball, willing to embrace challenges both on and off the field, and capable of thinking not just one step ahead, but as many steps ahead as possible.
My sessions are driven by competition because I believe a competitive environment breeds both success and extraordinary growth. Technical ability is the foundation of the game, and it comes from consistent, high-quality time on the ball. Every session is filled with purposeful touches and immediate application, because in soccer, the game always rewards the prepared.

Success is building a genuine love for the game, the kind that drives you to train on your own, set and break juggling records, and constantly chase improvement. It’s measurable growth, making smarter decisions under pressure, with and without the ball, and carrying yourself with confidence in every situation.
-
One of the best compliments I’ve received came from a high school player: “Coach, I never know if you’re angry, happy, or upset, you’re always the same person.” I stay consistent, ask guided questions to promote problem-solving, and encourage players to make mistakes and try again. I’m direct, clear, and honest. I’ll tell you where your child excels, where they need to improve, and always explain the “why” behind what I do.
-
By the end of the year, fall, winter, and spring, I want players to have complete bravery: bravery to fail, bravery to take risks, and a new level of confidence with the ball. They should understand the four phases of play, the thirds of the field, and the reality that soccer is a tactical, invasion-based game. I want them to know every position, be able to teach those roles to others, and believe they can handle any challenge on or off the pitch.
-
Success is seeing players fall in love with the game, develop the desire to improve on their own, and grow stronger in both skill and mindset. If they want to play forever, in some form, I’ve succeeded.

Every session is technical, game-like, and competitive. I focus on technique under pressure, decision-making, and applying skills in realistic scenarios. I always layer the four phases of play, attack, defense, transition to attack, and transition to defense, into the work.
-
I create an environment where mistakes are part of learning. I encourage bravery and risk-taking in training so players have the confidence to do the same in games. When setbacks happen, I teach the importance of moving on quickly, focusing on the next action, and understanding why something failed. Failure, approached with the right mindset, becomes a stepping stone to success, through repetition, feedback, and the willingness to step back into the fire until you get it right.
-
I constantly grow my coaching network, ask questions, study matches, take courses, and explore sports psychology. I read, watch, and listen with one purpose, to be the best developmental coach I can be for my athletes.

Respect, discipline, accountability, and a strong work ethic. How you carry yourself in school, at home, and in life will always show up in how you play. “How you do anything is how you do everything.”
